Brisbane born Alasdair Macintyre graduated from the Queensland College of Art in 1990, he traveled overseas for several months, beginning a formal art practise upon returning to Australia in the early 1990's. He has exhibited in group exhibitions and art competitions nationally, as well as several solo exhibitions. His work has featured in both the electronic and print media, and he has five times been a finalist in the longest running contemporary art prize in Australia, The Conrad Jupiter's Art Prize, where his work was acquired for the collection in 2003. His work has also been acquired for the collection of the Toowoomba Regional Art Gallery, and the QUT Art museum, as well as being chosen for inclusion in "Temperature: Contemporary Queensland Sculpture" in 2004. "Australian Art Collector" named him as an "undiscovered artist" in April 2004, and he was short listed for the National Sculpture Prize and Exhibition at the National Gallery of Australia, 2005. He was one of eight artists included in “Prime:2005” at the Queensland Art Gallery. Alasdair Macintyre lives and works in Brisbane.
