ARTIST PROFILE |
The Legends of Art series of work falls roughly between the end of 1999 and the end of 2003. During this period, Macintyre produced a range of "products" which resembled mass-market produced toys within packaging. In fact, each artwork was painstakingly worked over, and method of creation was exactly the opposite of the mass produced feel of the pieces. "Atelier Australia", "The Art Park Project", and "The Legends of Art Figurine Collection" were selected finalists for exhibition at the Conrad Jupiters Art Prize (Gold Coast City Art Gallery) in the years 1999-2002. "Jackson Pollock's ...Oldsmobile..." featured on ABC Televisions Sunday morning Arts program "Coast to Coast" in 2002. The "Legends of Art 12' Doll Collection" won the Acquisition Award at The Churchie Emerging Art Exhibition in 2000. All these "Legends of Art" pieces (excluding "Who Art Thou?") have been exhibited between 1999 and 2003. |
